Carissa was employed at the above-named school in various capacities, between January 2006 – December 2015. Over the period of 10 years, I got to know her both professionally and personally.
Carissa’s gentle, compassionate nature endeared her to the children in her care and resulted in her being a much-loved member of our staff. Her unwavering honesty and determination are character traits that have held her in good stead and which have enabled her to tackle many challenges.

Carissa’s remedial background and love for Language made her an excellent choice as Language Specialist, a position which she held between 2006 – 2010.
At the beginning of 2010, she accepted the role of remedial specialist, offering individual support and remedial therapy as a private practitioner, working on the school premises which positioned her well to offer support to both educators and pupils during the academic day and in the afternoons.

The excellent results received by her pupils in Primary School, as well as those who moved on to achieve sound results in High School, is testimony to her flexibility, academic acumen, her patience and perseverance. The pupils who went through her hands were well taught and they thrived under Carissa’s nurturing guidance.
During 2014 and 2015, Carissa also assisted the school with our newly introduced Language Intervention Programme, which was designed to assist those pupils who had progressed from Grade 3 to Grade 4, but who were not yet proficient at Afrikaans on Huistaal level, which is a requirement at our school, which offers both English and Afrikaans to all our pupils on Home Language/Huistaal level.

Carissa is an accomplished, versatile educational practitioner and I have no hesitation in recommending her for a position in her field of expertise.
